Cube Attain SLX

Are you looking for an endurance racer that lets you tackle long, challenging rides effortlessly without straining your back or neck? The Cube Attain SLX strikes a perfect balance between pure speed and comfort on the road. The Road Comfort Geometry lets you sit in a slightly less deep and stretched-out position than on a hardcore racing bike. This reduces the strain on your body, so that even after hours in the saddle, you will still have plenty of energy left to sprint.

The frame is made of double-butted aluminium, paired with a lightweight C:62 carbon fork. The absolute highlight of the Attain SLX is the full Shimano 105 2x12-speed groupset - the gold standard for ambitious cyclists: It shifts flawlessly in all conditions, and the 12 rear gears ensure you’ll always find the perfect cadence, whether you’re braving a flat polder breeze or climbing a steep hill.

• Road Comfort Geometry: This frame geometry has been developed to relieve pressure on the lower back and shoulders. You sit in a slightly more upright position for great comfort on long rides alone or with a partner, while the bike still handles in a sporty and responsive manner.

• C:62 Full Carbon rigid fork: The Attain's fork is made of Cube’s high-quality C:62 carbon. This material absorbs vibrations from cobblestones and rough road surfaces super effectively, and so your arms are less likely to tire.

• CUBE Integrated Cable Routing (CIS): All cables are routed directly into the frame through the ACROS headset. This prevents them from rubbing against the frame, protects the brake lines from the elements and gives the bike a clean, tidy look.

With the full Shimano 105 groupset and the Newmen wheelset fitted with 32 mm Continental Grand Prix TR folding tyres, you will enjoy top-class braking and gear-changing performance, as well as a wonderfully comfortable ride with plenty of grip when cornering on varied road surfaces.

When to consider a different model?
Are you looking for even better performance and do you want your bike to weigh less than 9 kg? Then you’d be better off looking at a carbon model from the same range, such as the Cube Attain C:62 Race. Or, if you're looking for a bike that will also take you on adventurous rides along unpaved forest trails, the Cube Nuroad gravel bike series is the better choice for you, as it offers considerably more clearance for wide, knobbly gravel tyres.

Not included:
• Road bike pedals: Road bikes are supplied without pedals as standard. We recommend a set of Shimano 105 PD-R7000 SPD-SL pedals for optimal contact with your bike. These pedals are part of the same range as the rest of the Attain SLX’s drivetrain and, therefore, match this road bike perfectly in terms of performance, durability and weight. When ordering pedals, don’t forget to order matching cycling shoes as well.

• Bottle cages and water bottles, so you can carry enough water, thirst-quenchers and/or energy drinks.

• Bike tools: Allen keys to straighten your handlebars and adjust the saddle height.

The Cube Attain SLX is prepared for the road by our experienced mechanics in the workshop and is delivered 95% assembled in a sturdy shipping box. At home, all you need to do is fit the pedals, straighten and tighten the handlebars, and set the saddle to the correct height.

• Tools required: You’ll need a set of Allen keys and a pedal wrench (or large Allen key) for the pedals.

• Lubricate the chain regularly: The Shimano CN-M6100 chain and the 12-speed cassette perform best when they are clean and well-lubricated. After a ride in the rain, dry the chain thoroughly and apply a high-quality chain wax or chain lube. If you use wax, you must first degrease the new chain completely. This is because a new chain is lubricated with oil as standard, and this is incompatible with wax.

• Keep the brakes clean: Clean the Shimano 105 disc brake rotors regularly with a specific brake cleaner to prevent squeaking and maintain optimal braking power. Take care to ensure no lubricants get onto the brake pads.

• Check tyre pressure: The 32 mm Continental Grand Prix TR tyres ride most comfortably at 4.5 - 5.5 bar, depending on your weight. Lower pressure provides greater comfort and grip, especially on wet roads. Or convert the tyres to tubeless straight away and enjoy even greater comfort, grip and a lower risk of ending up at the side of the road with a puncture.
